What counts as a zoning violation?

  • Building something without a permit.
  • Running a business not allowed in your zoning district.
  • Putting up a sign that’s too big or in the wrong spot.
  • Using land in a way that breaks city rules.

What happens if there’s a violation?

  1. The City will send a notice telling the owner what’s wrong.
  2. The owner will have time to fix the problem.
  3. If it’s not fixed, fines or legal action may follow.

How can I report a violation?

You can call the Planning & Zoning office or file a complaint online. Please give the property
address and details.
